As with the Eee PC the Eee Box will be powered by Intel’s Atom processor running at 1.6GHz. But unlike the Eee PC the Box will only ship with Microsoft Windows XP Home and not Linux.

The Eee Box is as large as a paperback novel and runs an 80GB hard disk, 1GB DDR2 memory and an 802.11n wireless network. For additional storage users can use the built-in multi-card reader.

Apart from its slim profile the Eee Box is far from being a slow and can boot and be ready to use in just seven seconds.

Also thanks to its thin design the Eee Box reduces power consumption by up to 90% when compared with traditional desktop computers.

Asus Eee Box discussion

[15

post-4212","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-hardware
