{"id":423546,"date":"2021-11-19T16:04:42","date_gmt":"2021-11-19T14:04:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=423546"},"modified":"2021-11-19T16:07:33","modified_gmt":"2021-11-19T14:07:33","slug":"voice-note-update-coming-to-whatsapp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/423546-voice-note-update-coming-to-whatsapp.html","title":{"rendered":"Voice note update coming to WhatsApp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WhatsApp is working on several new features for its mobile and desktop apps.<\/p>\n<p>The latest additions have been <a href=\"https:\/\/wabetainfo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>reported by WABetaInfo<\/strong><\/a>, which regularly reveals features available in beta versions of the messaging platform&#8217;s apps or those still under development.<\/p>\n<p>For users of the WhatsApp for iOS beta, two changes rolled out this past week.<\/p>\n<p>The first is the ability to pause and resume voice recordings, a feature that was previously <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/417720-big-whatsapp-voice-note-improvements.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>only under development<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The feature could be useful if you are interrupted while trying to record a voice note or need to do something else but don&#8217;t want to start recording the voice note from the start.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/WABetaInfo_Pause-voice-recording.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-423556\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/WABetaInfo_Pause-voice-recording.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/WABetaInfo_Pause-voice-recording.png 960w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/WABetaInfo_Pause-voice-recording-513x400.png 513w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/WABetaInfo_Pause-voice-recording-552x430.png 552w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/WABetaInfo_Pause-voice-recording-768x598.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The second change relates to how WhatsApp Business accounts behave on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>For specific users on the iOS beta, these accounts will now be presented in the same way as personal accounts if they don&#8217;t have them in their contact list.<\/p>\n<p>When users receive a message from an unknown business account, they will be presented with two options on a bar at the bottom of the message feed \u2014 &#8220;Block&#8221;
