{"id":43269,"date":"2012-02-13T09:21:36","date_gmt":"2012-02-13T07:21:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=43269"},"modified":"2012-02-13T10:44:03","modified_gmt":"2012-02-13T08:44:03","slug":"move-over-bbm-and-mxit-zing-is-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/43269-move-over-bbm-and-mxit-zing-is-here.html","title":{"rendered":"Move over BBM and MXit, ZiNG is here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend (11-12 February 2012) saw the launch of <a title=\"ZiNG\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/403817-ZiNG\">ZiNG<\/a>, a free chat application that runs on both smartphones and feature phones.<\/p>\n<p>ZiNG was developed by <a title=\"BlazingChilli\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/403807-Blazingchilli\">BlazingChilli<\/a>, a mobile technology company incorporated in Mauritius, but staffed by a number of South Africans headed up by local entrepreneur <a title=\"Jason Perthel\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/403819-Jason-Perthel\">Jason Perthel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The service has all the basics one would expect from a mobile messaging application, such as text chat, the ability to send pictures, group chat and emoticons.<\/p>\n<p>It also claims to show an indicator when someone else is typing, as well as message delivery status and read receipts.<\/p>\n<p>ZiNG further lets users send their location to one another from supported devices.<\/p>\n<p>One features that really sets ZiNG apart, however, is its rewards system that gives users points for clicking on advertisements.
