{"id":437516,"date":"2022-03-15T16:44:33","date_gmt":"2022-03-15T14:44:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=437516"},"modified":"2022-03-15T16:45:28","modified_gmt":"2022-03-15T14:45:28","slug":"tesla-increases-prices-base-model-now-46990","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/motoring\/437516-tesla-increases-prices-base-model-now-46990.html","title":{"rendered":"Tesla increases prices \u2014 base model now $46,990"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tesla Inc. raised prices on all its vehicles after Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk said costs were increasing at the companies he runs.<\/p>\n<p>The cheapest Model 3 in the US is now $46,990 (R710,000 excl. import costs and taxes), according to Tesla&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>The company raised prices by 3% to 5% in both the US and China, Dan Levy, a Credit Suisse analyst, said in a note to clients.<\/p>\n<p>Musk tweeted earlier this week that both Tesla and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. were seeing &#8220;significant&#8221; inflation in raw materials and logistics.<\/p>\n<p>The electric car and rocket-making companies aren&#8217;t alone.
