Meta Platforms Inc. Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the company is building the technical functionality so that users can display their NFTs on Instagram — and even \u201cmint\u201d some NFTs within the app.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re working on bringing NFTs to Instagram in the near term,\u201d he said during an interview at the South by Southwest conference Tuesday, but declined to share specifics on when and how the feature might work.<\/p>\n
Zuckerberg spent most of the nearly 50-minute long conversation talking about the so-called metaverse, his vision for a more immersive version of the internet.<\/p>\n
Former Meta executive David Marcus\u00a0said last August<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0that the company was looking into building NFT features alongside the company\u2019s Novi digital wallet.<\/p>\n At the SXSW conference, held in Austin, Texas, Zuckerberg also\u00a0discussed<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0the war in Ukraine, calling it \u201cmassively destabilizing world event\u201d — his first public comments since the conflict began last month.<\/p>\n Meta Platforms Inc.
