{"id":44141,"date":"2012-02-24T09:51:48","date_gmt":"2012-02-24T07:51:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=44141"},"modified":"2012-02-24T09:54:41","modified_gmt":"2012-02-24T07:54:41","slug":"android-apps-too-expensive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/44141-android-apps-too-expensive.html","title":{"rendered":"Android apps too expensive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342717-Apple-inc\">Apple<\/a> iPhone users may be more inclined to pay for applications than <a title=\"Android Mobile Oerating System\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/221979-Google-Android\">Android<\/a> users, after finding out that apps on the latter are two and a half times more expensive on average.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to market research firm Canalys, who released the results of a survey done across the two operating systems.<\/p>\n<p>Top paid-for apps on the Android market were priced \u201cdramatically higher\u201d than those on iOS according to the survey results.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the US, to purchase the top 100 paid-for apps in the Android Market would cost $374.37 (R2871.11) \u2013 an average of $3.74 (R28.71) per app \u2013 more than 2.5 times the cost of the top 100 paid-for iPhone apps.
