{"id":44289,"date":"2012-02-27T08:23:13","date_gmt":"2012-02-27T06:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=44289"},"modified":"2012-02-28T11:16:58","modified_gmt":"2012-02-28T09:16:58","slug":"intel-ivy-bridge-delayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/44289-intel-ivy-bridge-delayed.html","title":{"rendered":"Intel \u201cIvy Bridge\u201d delayed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Intel\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307489-Intel\">Intel<\/a> has delayed their next-generation chipset offering for ultrabooks and desktop PC\u2019s according to an Intel executive.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the Financial Times, executive vice-president of Intel <a title=\"Sean Maloney\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/338929-Sean-Maloney\">Sean Maloney<\/a> conceded, \u201cI think maybe it&#8217;s June now\u201d when discussing the potential release date for Ivy Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Intel never set a launch date for the chipset; however the chipmaker indicated a \u201cspring\u201d launch was in the pipeline. A June release date would shift the launch to a \u201csummer\u201d launch.<\/p>\n<p>Ivy Bridge is the next performance upgrade in Intel\u2019s tick-tock strategy, and is the first device to feature Intel\u2019s own 3D transistor technology.
