{"id":443306,"date":"2022-05-05T13:14:52","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T11:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=443306"},"modified":"2022-05-05T13:29:40","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T11:29:40","slug":"whatsapp-reactions-rolling-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/443306-whatsapp-reactions-rolling-out.html","title":{"rendered":"WhatsApp reactions rolling out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WhatsApp will begin rolling out its message reaction feature on Thursday, 5 May 2022, according to Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg.<\/p>\n<p>The messaging company&#8217;s reaction feature is somewhat different from that of Facebook \u2014 dropping the &#8220;care&#8221; and &#8220;angry&#8221; reactions for a new &#8220;thanks&#8221; emoji \u2014 and it plans on adding more expressions in future.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Reactions on WhatsApp start rolling out today,&#8221; Zuckerberg <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/zuck\/posts\/10114461643981331\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said on Facebook<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re including\u00a0&#x1f64f; to help spread thanks and appreciation. More expressions coming soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Whatsapp-Beta-Plus-Option.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-440390\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Whatsapp-Beta-Plus-Option.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Whatsapp-Beta-Plus-Option.jpg 800w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Whatsapp-Beta-Plus-Option-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Whatsapp-Beta-Plus-Option-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The change has been in the works for some time, with the company initially announcing the feature in August 2021 and eventually <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/440386-new-whatsapp-message-reactions-in-the-works.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rolling it to Android beta testers<\/a><\/strong> in March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>WhatsApp users can tap on and hold the message to which they want to react and tap on the relevant expression.
