The publication previously said that WhatsApp was working on the feature five years ago but scratched plans on this only a few days later.<\/p>\n
The in-development iteration of the button can be accessed in the Android WhatsApp beta by long-pressing a message.<\/p>\n
That will present the user with an “Edit” button alongside the existing “Info” and “Copy” options.<\/p>\n
The screenshots below show how the feature will work on Android. It is also planned for release on the iOS and desktop versions of the app.<\/p>\n
