{"id":44919,"date":"2012-03-05T09:23:03","date_gmt":"2012-03-05T07:23:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=44919"},"modified":"2012-03-05T09:24:16","modified_gmt":"2012-03-05T07:24:16","slug":"facebook-helps-prevent-pretoria-robbery-rape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/44919-facebook-helps-prevent-pretoria-robbery-rape.html","title":{"rendered":"Facebook helps prevent Pretoria robbery, rape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Pretoria mother who was attacked by two armed robbers in her home on Friday night managed to summon help by updating her <a title=\"Facebook\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/348566-Facebook\">Facebook<\/a> status, it was reported on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Lizette Langeveld, 43, was confronted by two armed men who broke into her Centurion home around 7.30pm, physically assaulted her and threatened to rape her, the Beeld reported.<\/p>\n<p>They tied her up in her bedroom together with her 10-year-old son, took her cellphone and told her they would wait for her husband to come home and kill him.<\/p>\n<p>She managed to free both her son and herself and they hid inside her wardrobe with her laptop computer.<\/p>\n<p>She updated her Facebook status, saying &#8220;Please help! We have an armed robbery, they&#8217;re waiting for Hennie at the gate, please phone him, don&#8217;t let him come inside.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A second message was posted a few minutes later, saying &#8220;Help! Call Hennie. We&#8217;ve managed to untie ourselves. They said they would come back to rape me.
