{"id":45103,"date":"2012-03-07T10:19:43","date_gmt":"2012-03-07T08:19:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=45103"},"modified":"2012-03-07T11:23:48","modified_gmt":"2012-03-07T09:23:48","slug":"vodacom-fights-scam-smss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/45103-vodacom-fights-scam-smss.html","title":{"rendered":"Vodacom fights scam SMSes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227063-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a> today (7 March 2012) went live with a <a title=\"Company Information\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/348566-Facebook\">Facebook<\/a> page to spread the word about scam SMSes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocated on the Vodacom Facebook page (www.facebook.com\/vodacom), the tab is designed so that Facebook users can submit any <a title=\"SMS - Short Message Service\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/289539-SMS-Short-Message-Service\">SMS<\/a> scams they have received, or simply \u201cplus one\u201d an existing scam,\u201d Vodacom said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe plus-one button is located next to recently-added scams, and will allow users to note the prevalence of that particular SMS scam.\u00a0 The tab can be used by anyone who has access to Facebook.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen users enter a new SMS scam on the tab, they will need to enter the number from which the SMS came, as well as the accompanying message.
