{"id":452392,"date":"2022-07-13T14:03:29","date_gmt":"2022-07-13T12:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=452392"},"modified":"2022-07-13T14:06:09","modified_gmt":"2022-07-13T12:06:09","slug":"whatsapp-getting-new-voice-and-message-reaction-features","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/452392-whatsapp-getting-new-voice-and-message-reaction-features.html","title":{"rendered":"WhatsApp getting new voice and message reaction features"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WhatsApp will soon allow users to share a voice note as their status update and has started rolling out more emojis to use in message reactions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/industrynews\/451188-micro-focus-uft-one-ai-driven-test-automation-for-enterprise-apps.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>According to WABetaInfo<\/strong><\/a>, the popular chat app is developing a new voice status feature and preparing it for availability on the Android Beta app.<\/p>\n<p>Once enabled, users will see a voice recording button alongside the text and photo buttons in the status section.<\/p>\n<p>Tapping this button will let you record a voice note to use as your status.<\/p>\n<p>The feature will share your voice status with anyone you allow under your status privacy settings and will be end-to-end encrypted, the same as images and videos you share on your status.<\/p>\n<p>The screenshot below from WABetaInfo shows where the voice status button will appear.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-452402\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"1787\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status.jpg 1146w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status-179x400.jpg 179w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status-239x533.jpg 239w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status-768x1716.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status-688x1536.jpg 688w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Voice-status-917x2048.jpg 917w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/zuck\/posts\/pfbid02RBnG9SvZnPdFDgaKQQFsb4rferX8qqmrYSguuRjzPrwHB9zjLJvHGG9HVtbsvxxRl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>also recently announced<\/strong><\/a> that WhatsApp&#8217;s message reactions feature had been improved to include more emojis.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, users could react to a message with one of five emojis instead of sending them in a separate text message.<\/p>\n<p>With the new update, WhatsApp is including all of its emojis for reactions.<\/p>\n<p>The app is gradually rolling out this feature to users, so it might not yet be available on your particular device and account.<\/p>\n<p>To confirm that you can use the feature, long-press a message in WhatsApp.<\/p>\n<p>The reactions box will then pop up with available emojis, with a &#8220;+&#8221;
