Neotel has officially launched its enterprise wireless product offering, utilizing wireless last mile technologies to provision Neotel’s multiplay enterprise services to corporate customers. <\/p>\n
According to Rajeev Sinha, Head of Products and Solutions, the launch of this product offering will hold great benefits for corporate customers. <\/p>\n
“Just the speed of deployment of wireless technologies, means that our customers will be able to connect to the Neotel network in much shorter implementation times,” says Sinha. <\/p>\n
“Add to that the scalability of the product, which allows the customer to increase their bandwidth with no physical intervention and the ability for true multiplay – data, internet and voice – on wireless, and you have a true winning combination.” <\/p>\n
Enterprise Wireless will offer enterprise customers a further choice in connectivity.<\/p>\n
“Where there is no fiber to the curb and the customers need services quickly, it will provide for faster installation times – either permanently or until fiber is rolled out in that specific area,” says Sinha. <\/p>\n
Where customers have smaller bandwidth requirements, especially subrates (less than 2Mbps), it also becomes a suitable alternative to fiber.<\/p>\n
Neotel will use two technologies in providing wireless last mile access, WiMAX 802.16d and VectaStar. <\/p>\n
“We have engaged with the vendors to roll-out networks in the two spectrums we will be using, namely 3.5GHz and 10.5GHz,” he says. “We are providing a full IP environment with Ethernet interfaces.”<\/p>\n
According to Sinha the inherent advantage of wireless last mile access circuits is that it typically only takes 7 days to install. <\/p>\n
“It is also portable and can therefore be relocated and of course scalable which means we can increase throughput as and when the client requires it without physical intervention.” <\/p>\n
He also states that it has limited environmental impact. “Due to the wireless nature of the technology, no trenching of pavements or streets is required and the physical installation on the customer premises is small and unobtrusive,” he concludes.<\/p>\n
