{"id":45732,"date":"2012-03-15T09:21:02","date_gmt":"2012-03-15T07:21:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=45732"},"modified":"2012-03-15T09:21:55","modified_gmt":"2012-03-15T07:21:55","slug":"major-google-search-revamp-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/45732-major-google-search-revamp-coming.html","title":{"rendered":"Major Google search revamp coming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to keep ahead of their competition, <a title=\"Google\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/221979-Google-Android\">Google<\/a> is completely revamping its search function.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, who spoke to Google search executive <a title=\"Amit Singhal\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/366838-Amit-Singhal\">Amit Singhal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Singhal told the WSJ, \u201csearch will look more like how humans understand the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Changes to the search engine will start rolling out within the next few months, though the full transition to the next generation of search will likely take years.<\/p>\n<p>A Google spokesperson talking to <em>Cnet<\/em> noted that there is no specific timeline and that as per company policy, the new product will release when it is ready.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the revamp is to implement technology known as \u201csemantic search\u201d.
