{"id":462673,"date":"2022-09-30T09:32:58","date_gmt":"2022-09-30T07:32:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=462673"},"modified":"2022-09-30T09:40:35","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T07:40:35","slug":"vumatel-and-dfa-get-maziv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/fibre\/462673-vumatel-and-dfa-get-maziv.html","title":{"rendered":"Vumatel and DFA get MAZIV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Community Investment Ventures Holdings (CIVH) has announced that the parent company&#8217;s identity for its two fibre network assets \u2014 Vumatel and DFA \u2014 is MAZIV.<\/p>\n<p>CIVH is the Remgro and New GX-controlled parent company of fibre infrastructure operators Dark Fibre Africa (DFA) and Vumatel.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 May 2022, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/fibre\/444248-vumatel-and-dfa-integrated-into-new-infrastructure-company.html\">Vumatel and DFA were brought together<\/a><\/strong> and started to be managed under a new infrastructure company headed up by Vumatel CEO Dietlof Mare.<\/p>\n<p>Until now, it used the placeholder names FibreCo and Infraco for the new infrastructure company.<\/p>\n<p>Today the official name was unveiled \u2014 MAZIV.<\/p>\n<p>MAZIV CEO Dietlof Mare explained that the concept behind the name was taken from the Greek &#8220;mazi&#8221;, which means &#8220;together&#8221;. &#8220;It perfectly encompasses the essence and identity of the growing entity,&#8221; Mare said.<\/p>\n<p>Mare added that under MAZIV, Vumatel and DFA would continue to expand their fibre network coverage across South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Maziv-Logo-MyBB.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-462677\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Maziv-Logo-MyBB.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Maziv-Logo-MyBB.jpg 800w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Maziv-Logo-MyBB-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Maziv-Logo-MyBB-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>He added that they would build on the strategy that made them the leaders in the fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), fibre-to-the-business (FTTB) and fibre-to-the-tower (FTTT) sectors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As the fibre market evolves and becomes a critical part of our country&#8217;s infrastructure, so do the exponential growth opportunities for M\u0245ZIV and its subsidiaries,&#8221;
