{"id":473457,"date":"2022-12-09T15:07:54","date_gmt":"2022-12-09T13:07:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=473457"},"modified":"2022-12-09T15:09:36","modified_gmt":"2022-12-09T13:09:36","slug":"windows-11-getting-a-built-in-screen-recorder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/473457-windows-11-getting-a-built-in-screen-recorder.html","title":{"rendered":"Windows 11 getting a built-in screen recorder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft is finally adding the ability to record your desktop with its built-in screenshot app in Windows 11.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the software giant <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windows-insider\/2022\/12\/08\/screen-recording-in-snipping-tool-begins-rolling-out-to-windows-insiders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>started rolling out<\/strong> <\/a>the capability in version 11.2211.35.0 of the Snipping Tool for Dev Channel testers in the Windows Insider programme.<\/p>\n<p>Principal product manager lead for Windows Inbox Apps Dave Grochocki said the feature would expand the capabilities of an app that was among the favourites of the Insider community.<\/p>\n<p>To date, Windows users have either relied on the Xbox Game Bar&#8217;s screen recording features or used third-party apps to capture events on their screen.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of the former, screen recording sometimes only works when an app window is open and not the desktop on its own.<\/p>\n<p>That is because it is designed primarily for in-game recordings.<\/p>\n<p>For Insiders that have received the update, the recording button is available next to the &#8220;Snip&#8221;
