{"id":4755,"date":"2008-08-07T11:16:00","date_gmt":"2008-08-07T09:16:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-08-07T11:16:00","modified_gmt":"2008-08-07T09:16:00","slug":"google-adds-african-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/4755-google-adds-african-news.html","title":{"rendered":"Google adds African news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has launched its Google News service in English for Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Ghana, Uganda and Botswana.<\/p>\n<p>Adding customised versions of its news service allows users in these countries to search and view news in localised editions and gives publishers in these countries a new opportunity to grow their readership. <\/p>\n<p>On its Google Africa blog (<a href=\"http:\/\/google-africa.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/google-africa.blogspot.com\/<\/a>) the company says: &quot;From the East Africa Standard in Kenya to Zimbabwe Independent, Google News users in Africa and elsewhere can now read an African perspective on any news story.
