We&#8217;re aware and working to get this fixed.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TwitterSupport\/status\/1623463646444634113?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">February 8, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>Downdetector, a site that tracks technical outages for apps, showed a spike in user\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/twitter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reports<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of trouble on the site, touching 9,500 just after 5:30 p.m. New York time before starting to decline.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco-based Twitter didn\u2019t immediately respond to an email seeking comment on the issues.<\/p>\n<p>The limit for tweets per day is currently set to 2,400, according to Twitter\u2019s Help Center, making it unlikely that most users came anywhere close to their maximum.<\/p>\n<p>Technical problems also plagued other features within the Twitter app.<\/p>\n<p>Some users were unable to access direct messages, and others couldn\u2019t follow additional accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Tweetdeck, the feature for power users who like to manage multiple timelines at once, was also down for some people.<\/p>\n<p>Users have expressed concern about a widespread Twitter breakdown since billionaire Elon Musk took over the social network last year and immediately fired 50% of the company\u2019s workforce.<\/p>\n<p>Many of those who left Twitter worked on core infrastructure projects that help keep the site operational.<\/p>\n<p>Some users and former employees openly fretted that such a sudden reduction in staff might lead to cascading product outages.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"my-4\">Now read: <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/security\/477583-twitter-engineers-can-use-godmode-to-tweet-from-any-account-whistleblower.html\" rel=\"bookmark\">Twitter engineers can use \u201cGodMode\u201d to tweet from any account \u2014 Whistleblower<\/a><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The limit for tweets per day is currently set to 2,400, making it unlikely that most users came anywhere close to their maximum.
