{"id":48028,"date":"2012-04-17T16:11:02","date_gmt":"2012-04-17T14:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=48028"},"modified":"2012-04-17T16:29:26","modified_gmt":"2012-04-17T14:29:26","slug":"dropped-call-stats-for-sa-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/48028-dropped-call-stats-for-sa-revealed.html","title":{"rendered":"Dropped call stats for SA revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226385-ICASA\">Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)<\/a> recently published the license compliance reports of SA\u2019s telecommunications operators which showed the connectivity failure rate reported by the companies.<\/p>\n<p>In its submissions to ICASA, <a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227063-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a> and <a title=\"MTN\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226943-MTN\">MTN<\/a> explained that they looked at the call set-up success and dropped call rates to determine their connectivity failure rates.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst other things, ICASA requires that an operator\u2019s connectivity failure rate be no greater than 3% to comply with its end user service subscriber charter.<\/p>\n<p>The five operators listed below all complied with this requirement and ICASA said during a media briefing on Monday (16 April 2012) that no license compliance matters were referred to its Complaints and Compliance Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The table below shows the connectivity failure statistics of <a title=\"Telkom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227037-Telkom\">Telkom<\/a> (<a title=\"8ta\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/276092-8ta\">8ta<\/a>), <a title=\"Neotel\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226979-Neotel\">Neotel<\/a>, Vodacom, MTN, and <a title=\"Cell C\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/213919-Cell-C\">Cell C<\/a>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"table-responsive\"><table class=\"table\" style=\"background-color: #f2f2f2;
