{"id":483173,"date":"2023-03-09T08:20:13","date_gmt":"2023-03-09T06:20:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=483173"},"modified":"2023-03-09T08:20:13","modified_gmt":"2023-03-09T06:20:13","slug":"instagram-recovers-from-widespread-technical-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/483173-instagram-recovers-from-widespread-technical-issues.html","title":{"rendered":"Instagram recovers from widespread technical issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Meta Platforms Inc.\u2019s Instagram says it\u2019s resolved \u201ctechnical issues\u201d that disrupted the photo-sharing service for thousands of users around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Instagram, which hosts about 2 billion users a month, didn\u2019t elaborate on the disruption.<\/p>\n<p>At its peak, website tracker DownDetector received\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/instagram\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">more than 50,000 reports<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>covering glitches from difficulties posting updates to long load times.<\/p>\n<p>The hashtag #instagramdown at one point trended globally as users from around the world flooded their feeds with complaints.<\/p>\n<p>The last service outage documented on Instagram\u2019s Twitter feed dated back to October, when the company\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/InstagramComms\/status\/1587202825762766848?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tweeted<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0about a bug it fixed that blocked users from accounts or altered the numbers of followers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-social-embedded\" data-social-media-type=\"twitter\" data-original-url=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/InstagramComms\/statuses\/1633694866382422016\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Earlier tonight, a technical issue caused people to have trouble accessing Instagram.
