{"id":48482,"date":"2012-04-24T09:04:06","date_gmt":"2012-04-24T07:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=48482"},"modified":"2012-04-24T09:05:00","modified_gmt":"2012-04-24T07:05:00","slug":"chrome-18-is-worlds-most-popular-browser","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/48482-chrome-18-is-worlds-most-popular-browser.html","title":{"rendered":"Chrome 18 is world\u2019s most popular browser"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><\/strong><a title=\"Chrome\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/368084-Chrome\">Chrome<\/a> 18 is by far the world\u2019s most popular web browser, beating out the likes of <a title=\"Firefox\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/220755-Firefox\">Firefox<\/a> 11 and <a title=\"Internet Explorer (IE)\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/387173-Internet-Explorer\">Internet Explorer<\/a> 9.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to new research by internet monitoring firm, Pingdom, who found that Chrome 18 had a 25.6 percent share of the global browser market.<\/p>\n<p>This was followed by Firefox, who held 15.8 percent of the market. Internet Explorer 9 and 8 placed third and fourth, with 15.7 percent and 14.6 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in terms of overall web browser usage across all versions, Internet Explorer maintained its lead with 34 percent of the market.<\/p>\n<p>It was followed by Chrome (31.2 percent) and Firefox (25 percent).
