{"id":486525,"date":"2023-04-04T08:59:46","date_gmt":"2023-04-04T06:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=486525"},"modified":"2023-04-04T09:01:37","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T07:01:37","slug":"whatsapp-working-on-big-security-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/486525-whatsapp-working-on-big-security-change.html","title":{"rendered":"WhatsApp working on big security change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WhatsApp is working on a feature that will let users lock specific conversations on the platform using their fingerprint or passcode, WABetaInfo <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wabetainfo.com\/whatsapp-beta-for-android-2-23-8-2-whats-new\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The new feature adds another layer of privacy to the messaging app. Currently, users can lock the app using Face ID, fingerprints, or a passcode.<\/p>\n<p>WABetaInfo spotted the feature in the files of WhatsApp&#8217;s latest beta version for Android (v2.23.8.2).
