<\/strong>When it comes to security, Apple\u2019s<\/a> Macintosh platform is \u201ca decade behind Microsoft\u2019s<\/a>\u201d according to head of Kaspersky Lab<\/a>, Eugene Kaspersky<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“They will understand very soon that they have the same problems Microsoft had 10 or 12 years ago,” Kaspersky said in an interview with Computer Business Review.<\/p>\n

“They will have to make changes in terms of the cycle of updates and so on, and will be forced to invest more into their security audits for the software.”<\/p>\n

“That’s what Microsoft did in the past after so many incidents like Blaster and the more complicated worms that infected millions of computers in a short time,” he continued.<\/p>\n

“They had to do a lot of work to check the code to find mistakes and vulnerabilities. Now it’s time for Apple.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comments come amid the Flashback malware outbreak on Mac computers. The malware infected over 650,000 at its peak, though current numbers suggest an infection count of around 185,000.<\/p>\n
