{"id":48663,"date":"2012-04-26T08:58:43","date_gmt":"2012-04-26T06:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=48663"},"modified":"2012-04-26T08:59:50","modified_gmt":"2012-04-26T06:59:50","slug":"apple-os-x-hackstore-launches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/technology\/48663-apple-os-x-hackstore-launches.html","title":{"rendered":"Apple OS X \u201cHackStore\u201d launches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><\/strong>A group of Russian developers have recently launched the \u201cHackStore\u201d: an online store providing <a title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342717-Apple-inc\">Apple<\/a> Mac OS X users access to third party applications for the platform.<\/p>\n<p>Similar to Cydia on iOS, the HackStore allows developers to distribute applications for the OS X platform without going through Apple\u2019s approval process.<\/p>\n<p>The developers have noted that piracy will not be tolerated on the HackStore, however, it is unclear what measure will be implemented to prevent this from happening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe biggest Mac Appstore problem is that they limit their users in everything, without giving an opportunity to expand these limits,\u201d said the HackStore developers on their website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not [right], because only users should decide which applications they should install and which [not to].
