{"id":486665,"date":"2023-04-05T11:33:55","date_gmt":"2023-04-05T09:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=486665"},"modified":"2023-04-05T11:35:16","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T09:35:16","slug":"google-drive-removes-file-limit-following-backlash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cloud-hosting\/486665-google-drive-removes-file-limit-following-backlash.html","title":{"rendered":"Google Drive removes file limit following backlash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has rolled back a file limit that it recently <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cloud-hosting\/486419-google-drive-has-a-secret-file-limit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>snuck into<\/strong><\/a> its Drive cloud storage product.<\/p>\n<p>The company began restricting the maximum number of files a single user could upload to Google Drive to 5 million sometime in February 2023.<\/p>\n<p>It argued the change was necessary to safeguard against misuse of the Google Drive system, which could negatively impact its stability and safety.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This limit does not impact the vast majority of our users&#8217;
