According to Telkom’s key performance indicators for April to June 2008, its ADSL service had an international packet loss of 0.28% with a “maximum average” packet loss of 71%.<\/p>\n
The information indicates an average local packet loss of 0.23% with an average maximum packet loss of 27.78%.<\/p>\n
When it comes to international latency – measured to Amsterdam, Ashburn, Hong Kong, London and New York – the average was 271ms with a average maximum latency of 509ms and a average minimum of 182ms. According to the statistics the lowest latency was achieved to Hong Kong with a ping time of 142ms.<\/p>\n
Locally, Telkom’s statistics indicated an average latency of 22ms with an average minimum of 2.81ms and an average maximum of 270ms.<\/p>\n
According to Telkom statistics the average international jitter (the variation in the amount of latency among packets being received) was 1.22 while the average local jitter was 23.31.<\/p>\n
