{"id":487679,"date":"2023-04-14T10:31:38","date_gmt":"2023-04-14T08:31:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=487679"},"modified":"2023-04-14T10:33:14","modified_gmt":"2023-04-14T08:33:14","slug":"google-rolling-out-major-design-changes-in-chat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/487679-google-rolling-out-major-design-changes-in-chat.html","title":{"rendered":"Google rolling out major design changes in Chat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alphabet Inc. is rolling out a revamped user interface for Google Chat, bringing the messaging platform more in line with its other apps like Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Gmail.<\/p>\n<p>The update is based on Google\u2019s Material Design 3, which includes new fonts, colours, layouts, and panel sizing.<\/p>\n<p>Google says the revamped user interface is designed to help increase collaboration and streamline workflows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpecifically, you\u2019ll notice changes to the top app bar, left navigation, main message view, compose setup, new topic button, and the thread panel within direct messages and spaces,\u201d it said in a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/workspaceupdates.googleblog.com\/2023\/04\/communicate-better-modernized-google-chat.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog post<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope this modernised product experience increases collaboration and enables you to more easily complete tasks within your workflow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The revamped messaging platform is available to all Google Workspace and legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers. It is also available to users with personal Gmail accounts.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Google-Chat-revamp.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-487683\" src=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Google-Chat-revamp.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"750\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Google says it will take up to 15 days for the changes to become visible to some users.
