{"id":489129,"date":"2023-04-26T08:37:16","date_gmt":"2023-04-26T06:37:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=489129"},"modified":"2023-04-26T17:44:03","modified_gmt":"2023-04-26T15:44:03","slug":"openai-adds-new-privacy-feature-for-chatgpt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/489129-openai-adds-new-privacy-feature-for-chatgpt.html","title":{"rendered":"OpenAI adds new privacy feature for ChatGPT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OpenAI is letting people opt to\u00a0withhold their ChatGPT conversations from use in training the artificial intelligence company\u2019s models.<\/p>\n<p>The move could be a\u00a0privacy safeguard for people who sometimes share\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-04-18\/ai-therapy-becomes-new-use-case-for-chatgpt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sensitive information<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with the popular AI chatbot.<\/p>\n<p>The startup said Tuesday that\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chat.openai.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ChatGPT<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0users can now turn off their chat histories by clicking a toggle switch in their account settings.<\/p>\n<p>When people do this, their conversations will no longer be saved in ChatGPT\u2019s history sidebar (located\u00a0on the left side of the webpage), and OpenAI\u2019s models won\u2019t use that data to improve over time.<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI is aiming to make people\u00a0feel more comfortable using the chatbot for all kinds of applications.
