{"id":492597,"date":"2023-05-22T13:13:04","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T11:13:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=492597"},"modified":"2023-05-22T13:22:31","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T11:22:31","slug":"google-chrome-will-now-check-urls-for-typos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/492597-google-chrome-will-now-check-urls-for-typos.html","title":{"rendered":"Google Chrome will check URLs for typos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/outreach-initiatives\/accessibility\/global-accessibility-awareness-day-google-product-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a><\/strong> several new accessibility features, including the ability for Chrome to detect typos in URLs and live captions for calls.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When you type a website into the Chrome address bar, it will now detect URL typos and suggest websites based on the corrections,&#8221; Google said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This increases accessibility for people with dyslexia, language learners, and anyone who makes typos by making it easier to get to previously visited websites despite spelling errors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It noted that the feature is already available on Chrome for desktops and will roll out to mobile devices in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>Google said it is expanding the availability of its AI-powered Live Caption feature to more Android devices and enhancing the experience for those who already have access to it.<\/p>\n<p>The changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New &#8220;optimised&#8221; caption box for Live Captions on Android tablets;<\/li>\n<li>Live captions for calls will let users type responses during calls and have them read aloud to the caller.
