{"id":506930,"date":"2023-09-06T15:51:29","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T13:51:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=506930"},"modified":"2023-09-06T16:00:27","modified_gmt":"2023-09-06T14:00:27","slug":"zoom-revamps-ai-powered-tools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/506930-zoom-revamps-ai-powered-tools.html","title":{"rendered":"Zoom revamps AI-powered tools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Zoom is updating and renaming some of its artificial intelligence (AI) powered tools, including its <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.zoom.us\/zoom-ai-companion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">generative AI assistant<\/a>,<\/strong> formerly known as Zoom IQ.<\/p>\n<p>The assistant is now known as the AI Companion and uses the same combination of technologies as Zoom IQ \u2014 namely, the company\u2019s in-house generative AI and models from Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic.<\/p>\n<p>However, the assistant\u2019s accessibility is expanding across the Zoom platform, including Zoom Whiteboard, Zoom Team Chat, and Zoom Mail.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, Zoom will add a conversational interface via the AI Companion to let users use the AI similarly to ChatGPT.<\/p>\n<p>The interface will let users chat directly with the AI companion to ask questions about meetings and chats.<\/p>\n<p>For example, they will be able to ask about the status of projects, for which the AI Companion will pull on transcribed meetings, chats, emails, whiteboards, and even third-party programs.<\/p>\n<p>The AI Companion could catch them up on meetings for which they arrived late or missed, create and file support tickets, and draft responses to inquiries.<\/p>\n<p>It also retains a popular Zoom IQ feature \u2014 the ability to have the assistant summarise meetings, highlight key points, and recommend action items.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the AI Companion will give meeting participants real-time feedback and coaching on conversational and presentation skills.<\/p>\n<p>Zoom says the feature can be switched off at any time by an account owner or administrator.<\/p>\n<p>Most of Zoom\u2019s AI Companion features will be accessible in the app\u2019s side panel.
