{"id":515567,"date":"2023-11-17T13:51:12","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T11:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=515567"},"modified":"2023-11-17T13:51:12","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T11:51:12","slug":"microsoft-copilot-coming-to-windows-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/515567-microsoft-copilot-coming-to-windows-10.html","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Copilot coming to Windows 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft has <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.windows.com\/windows-insider\/2023\/11\/16\/releasing-windows-10-build-19045-3754-to-release-preview-channel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirmed<\/a><\/strong> that it will roll out its Copilot AI to Windows 10 users in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Copilot is a tool for Windows that can create content in Office apps using text prompts, answer questions, and interact with documents.<\/p>\n<p>The Windows 10 Copilot will initially only be available to Windows Insider users in an upcoming Release Preview update. The tool will feature on the right side of the taskbar.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will be introducing Copilot in Windows (in preview) for devices running Windows 10, version 22H2 Home and Pro editions,&#8221; said Microsoft&#8217;s Windows Insider Program Team.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When you select it, Copilot in Windows appears at the right of your screen. It will not overlap with desktop content or block open app windows.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While adding the feature to Windows 10 may make it seem like Microsoft&#8217;s AI plans are moving backwards, the move isn&#8217;t surprising.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/gs.statcounter.com\/os-version-market-share\/windows\/desktop\/worldwide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Statcounter GlobalStats<\/strong><\/a> data, Windows 11 accounts for 26% of current Windows installations, while Windows 10 holds a 69% share of the Windows market.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/133838-windows-10-launch-a-mostly-successful-mess.html\">launched Windows 10<\/a><\/strong> in July 2015; by 2020, the operating system had reached one billion devices.<\/p>\n<p>However, the end of the operating system is in sight.
