{"id":51585,"date":"2012-06-01T15:05:26","date_gmt":"2012-06-01T13:05:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=51585"},"modified":"2012-06-01T15:06:42","modified_gmt":"2012-06-01T13:06:42","slug":"windows-8-upgrade-special-pricing-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/software\/51585-windows-8-upgrade-special-pricing-revealed.html","title":{"rendered":"Windows 8 upgrade special pricing revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South African customers who buy a new <a title=\"Windows 7\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/360852-Windows\">Windows 7<\/a> PC before February 2013 will not have to fork out the full price to upgrade to Windows 8.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Microsoft\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/211580-Microsoft\">Microsoft<\/a> has launched a Windows Upgrade Offer, which will allow qualifying buyers the option to purchase a downloadable upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $14.99 (around R125), which they can redeem when Windows 8 becomes generally available.<\/p>\n<p>The offer is available for consumers buying new Windows 7 PCs that come pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate and include a matching and valid OEM certificate of authenticity.<\/p>\n<p>The Windows 7 PC must be purchased new during the eligibility period of 2 June 2012 and 31 January 2013, and redeemed before the program expires at the end of February 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Consumers who register for the Windows Upgrade Offer will be able to download Windows 8 starting the day it becomes publicly available.
