Bavarian Linux PC brand Tuxedo Computers has unveiled its first AMD-only gaming laptop, Phoronix reports.

The Sirius 16 Gen1 features an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS processor and AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics card. This can be paired with up to 96GB of DDR 5-5600MHz RAM.

For storage, the laptop can fit two M.2 SSDs with a combined capacity of up to 8TB.

Other features include a 16.1-inch display that boasts a 1440p resolution with 165Hz refresh rate, 80Wh battery, Wi-Fi 6E, and USB 4.0 and HDMI 2.1 ports.

All of this comes packaged in an all-aluminium chassis 2.2cm thick that weighs 2.3kg.

These components should provide plenty of power for playing the latest games at high frame rates, assuming the user is familiar with getting them to run on Linux.

Tuxedo will start shipping the laptop in mid-December and give buyers the option of various Ubuntu LTS distros or Tuxedo’s own Ubuntu-based OS.

Pricing starts at €1,699 (R34,763) for the entry-level model with 16GB RAM and 500GB SSD.

Tom’s Hardware has speculated that the Sirius 16 Gen1 might be the world’s first Linux laptop with both an AMD CPU and GPU.

Below are more images of the laptop.
