The Browser Company has started sending download invitations for its Arc browser beta to those on the waiting list for the Windows version.<\/p>\n
The company took to Twitter (now X) to make the announcement<\/a><\/strong>. It also referenced its “IsArcOnWindows” tracking page, which showed that the Arc browser for Windows had accumulated just seven beta testers<\/a><\/strong> by publication time.<\/p>\n The invitation explains that The Browser Company is “onboarding hundreds of beta testers to Arc” in the coming weeks, and it plans to expand beta testing to thousands of users each week starting in 2024.<\/p>\n The Arc browser officially launched on Mac and iOS<\/a><\/strong> in July 2023, following a two-year beta testing period.<\/p>\n Arc promises much more than most browsers, with the company aiming to build an “operating system for the Internet”.<\/p>\n In addition to typical web browsing functionality, Arc features tools for taking notes, making visual easels on which other users can collaborate, and redesigning web pages to user preference.<\/p>\n The Mac and iOS versions of the browser also feature a picture-in-picture mode compatible with Google Meet and a built-in ad blocker.<\/p>\n The browser promises to be secure, with no support for cookies, and The Browser Company is pledging not to share data with others.<\/p>\n At the end of the Mac and iOS beta, The Browser Company made Arc 1.0 publicly available. However, the official launch didn’t add any new features that weren’t available in the beta version.<\/p>\n Since then, there have been several updates that have added new features and introduced significant changes to the browser.<\/p>\n The Browser Company let users sign up for the Arc Windows waitlist at the time, saying the browser will come to the Microsoft operating system in “winter 2023 [in the Northern hemisphere]” \u2014 between December 2023 and February 2024.<\/p>\n Arc browser developer, The Browser Company, is running a website to track how many testers join the Windows beta.
