{"id":519729,"date":"2023-12-13T12:27:39","date_gmt":"2023-12-13T10:27:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=519729"},"modified":"2023-12-13T12:35:19","modified_gmt":"2023-12-13T10:35:19","slug":"google-testing-editing-feature-for-android-messages-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/smartphones\/519729-google-testing-editing-feature-for-android-messages-app.html","title":{"rendered":"Google testing editing feature for Android Messages app"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has been working to improve its Android Messages app, and the latest feature it is testing is the ability to edit messages once they&#8217;ve been sent, SpAndroid <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thespandroid.blogspot.com\/2023\/12\/Google-Message-Rcs-Message-Editing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The latest beta version of the app, released in late November 2023, contains code indicating that it will feature some form of message editing feature.<\/p>\n<p>The flags spotted in SpAndroid&#8217;s teardown of the app include: &#8220;bugle.enable_edit_ui&#8221;, &#8220;bugle.load_edit_history&#8221;, &#8220;bugle.process_outgoing_edits&#8221;, and &#8220;bugle.process_incoming_edits&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The first flag refers to a message-editing feature in the app&#8217;s UI.
