{"id":525098,"date":"2024-02-14T16:29:20","date_gmt":"2024-02-14T14:29:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=525098"},"modified":"2024-02-14T16:31:01","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T14:31:01","slug":"mtn-superflex-uncapped-voice-and-big-data-bundle-packages-getting-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/525098-mtn-superflex-uncapped-voice-and-big-data-bundle-packages-getting-extended.html","title":{"rendered":"MTN SuperFlex uncapped voice and big data bundle packages getting extended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MTN has confirmed that it will continue offering its SuperFlex packages beyond 29 February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa\u2019s second-largest mobile network operator first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtn.co.za\/home\/superflex\/\"><strong>announced MTN SuperFlex in September<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>MTN SuperFlex is an online, SIM-only, month-to-month tariff plan that offers unlimited voice and SMS messages with a large data bundle.<\/p>\n<p>Packages start at 10GB for R299 per month.<\/p>\n<p>However, the terms and conditions state that SuperFlex is a promotion that will only be available until 29 February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>It is not unusual for operators to launch new products like this as a promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Operators are required to file any adjustments to their permanent tariffs with the industry regulator, Icasa.<\/p>\n<p>Launching a new service as a promotion allows operators to quickly cancel or amend it if it doesn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n<p>Or, in the case of uncapped plans like SuperFlex, pull it off the market if there is a large amount of abuse that MTN\u2019s systems fail to detect and block.<\/p>\n<p>For example, MTN makes clear that SuperFlex is intended for individual consumers. MTN SA executive for sustainability and corporate affairs<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Fortunately, the risks that could have led to SuperFlex being scrapped do not appear to have materialised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to the positive response from the market, MTN will be extending the offer beyond February 2024,\u201d MTN SA chief sustainability and corporate affairs officer Jacqui O\u2019Sullivan told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe extension will include a lot more enhancements, improvements, new and exciting features.
