{"id":52613,"date":"2012-06-14T15:01:15","date_gmt":"2012-06-14T13:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=52613"},"modified":"2012-06-15T09:39:47","modified_gmt":"2012-06-15T07:39:47","slug":"adsl-capped-data-prices-plummet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/52613-adsl-capped-data-prices-plummet.html","title":{"rendered":"ADSL capped data prices plummet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Openweb\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226986-Openweb\">Openweb<\/a> has launched two new capped, unshaped data packages with pricing of well below R10 per GB.<\/p>\n<p>This announcement by Openweb follows numerous <a title=\"ADSL - Asymmetric digital subscriber line\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/224881-ADSL\">ADSL<\/a> data price cuts from Internet Service Providers (ISPs) after <a title=\"Telkom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227037-Telkom\">Telkom<\/a> reduced their ADSL wholesale rates by 30% in April 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Openweb\u2019s newly launched special packages are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>30GB Capped Unshaped for R199 (R6.63 per GB)<\/li>\n<li>50GB Capped Unshaped for R300 (R6 per GB)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Openweb founder <a title=\"Keoma Wright\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/301363-Keoma-Wright\">Keoma Wright<\/a> highlighted that the accounts allow 4 concurrent connections, but warned that existing clients cannot downgrade or cancel their current account to sign up for this new offer.<\/p>\n<p>This pricing from Openweb compares well with other service providers. <a title=\"Afrihost\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307435-Afrihost\">Afrihost<\/a> is currently selling 15GB of data at R190 and 50GB of data for R399.
