{"id":533,"date":"2007-07-05T18:26:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-05T16:26:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2007-07-05T18:26:00","modified_gmt":"2007-07-05T16:26:00","slug":"no-work-no-calls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/533-no-work-no-calls.html","title":{"rendered":"No work, no calls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spokesperson for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vodacom.co.za\" target=\"_blank\">Vodacom<\/a> Dot Field said employees who were participating in the strike were on a lock-out which meant no work, no pay and no benefits. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Company email and company sim cards are the property of the company and are business tools,&quot; said Field. <\/p>\n<p>She said the actual cellphones were not blocked and the workers were free to insert their own sim cards into the handsets. <\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson for the CWU, Mfanafuthi Sithebe, said the service provider had not favoured Gobodo Forensic Auditors with the complete list of the workforce &#8211; that would enable them to do a full list of those belonging to the union. <\/p>\n<p>Field said Vodacom had provided Gobodo with a full list of all their employees. <\/p>\n<p>Both parties were still in dispute over the number of people involved in the strike, after a memorandum was handed over at the headquarters in Midrand on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Vodacom said out of their workforce of 4302 employees, fewer than 120 were striking countrywide.
