{"id":535053,"date":"2024-05-03T16:09:27","date_gmt":"2024-05-03T14:09:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=535053"},"modified":"2024-05-03T16:09:27","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T14:09:27","slug":"comsols-big-5g-fixed-wireless-access-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/5g\/535053-comsols-big-5g-fixed-wireless-access-plans.html","title":{"rendered":"Comsol&#8217;s big 5G fixed wireless access plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Comsol, a South African fixed wireless access last-mile connectivity and private networks provider, is planning a national rollout of its 5G network over the next twelve months.<\/p>\n<p>This will be in addition to Comsol\u2019s existing millimetre-wave fixed wireless access (FWA) network, chief commercial officer Gary Woolley told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n<p>The company launched its 5G FWA service in March using 60MHz of radio frequency spectrum in the 3.7GHz band.<\/p>\n<p>It is currently available in Gauteng\u2019s business districts, with the product tiered in three different capacities: 25Mbps, 50Mbps, and 100Mbps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a significant chunk of spectrum which can drive larger capacities, however, at this stage, we are limiting our offering to 100Mbps,\u201d Woolley said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <em>What\u2019s Next with Aki Anastasiou<\/em>, Comsol CEO Iain Stevenson said their 5G FWA network will be <a href=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/5g\/529281-whats-next-iain-stevenson-unveils-comsols-new-5g-fixed-wireless-access-product-for-businesses.html\"><strong>exclusively focused on business use<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be no consumers on the network.
