<\/strong>Facebook<\/a> now displays a user’s \u201c@facebook.com\u201d email address on their profile instead of the email address used to sign up to the social network.<\/p>\n

This means that friends browsing your profile will no longer see the Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo mail address you signed up with, as standard.<\/p>\n

The mandatory change can be reversed, however. Advice site, Lifehacker has demonstrated a way to get your primary email address to display instead of the Facebook one:<\/p>\n

  1. Click on the \u201cabout\u201d link on your profile, then scroll down to your email address, then click \u201cEdit\u201d to change the details.<\/li>\n
  2. Click on the circle alongside your Facebook email address and change its setting to \u201cHidden from Timeline\u201d.<\/li>\n
  3. Click on the circle alongside your sign-up email address and change the settings to \u201cShow on Timeline\u201d.<\/li>\n
  4. Click on the Save button to apply the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
