{"id":542523,"date":"2024-06-28T07:36:24","date_gmt":"2024-06-28T05:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=542523"},"modified":"2024-06-28T07:36:24","modified_gmt":"2024-06-28T05:36:24","slug":"amazons-starlink-competitor-delayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/542523-amazons-starlink-competitor-delayed.html","title":{"rendered":"Amazon&#8217;s Starlink competitor delayed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amazon.com Inc. says it anticipates launching its first batch of internet-from-space satellites in the fourth quarter of this year after previously saying they would be sent aloft as soon as the first half.<\/p>\n<p>The company now aims to start the first customer tests of its Project Kuiper network in 2025, production operations chief Steve Metayer said at a ribbon-cutting event to open Amazon\u2019s satellite production facility in suburban Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial service, which can begin in a limited fashion when Amazon has hundreds of satellites aloft, will follow later in 2025.
