This move was made in order to \u201cfurther strengthen the Company\u2019s leadership capabilities and to give impetus to Telkom\u2019s drive to fulfill its strategic objectives\u201d according to Telkom.<\/font> <\/p>\n

The first appointment is to the position of Group Executive for Regulatory and Public Policy. Ouma Rabaji will take up this position in February next year and hails from the national prosecuting authority. Rabji is currently a Special Director of Public Prosecutions in the National Prosecuting Authority Asset Forfeiture Unit.<\/font> <\/p>\n

Anton Klopper will take over the Group Executive of Legal Service position. <\/font><\/p>\n

With ICASA\u2019s release of the new draft regulations regarding the pricing of ADSL, Telkom is expected to have a heavy year of negotiations and legal wrangling before them.<\/font> <\/p>\n

This means that both these executives will have their hands full as they work their way through the many intricacies of these regulations.<\/font> <\/p>\n

Telkom\u2019s new Broadband Officer is Alphonzo Samuels. This position has been specially created to help the incumbent deal with the vast changes occurring globally in the telecommunications environment.<\/font> <\/p>\n

\u201cThis new position is critical as the provision of data services is central to the Company\u2019s strategy of generating growth,\u201d stated Telkom.<\/font> <\/p>\n

Zethembe Khoza is the new Managing Executive for Consumer Markets and Steven Hayward fills the last position as Managing Executive: Business and Key Markets.<\/font> <\/p>\n

Molotstane congratulated all the Telkom employees who have been entrusted with the responsibility of steering the Company towards its vision of becoming a leading customer and employee centred ICT solutions service provider. <\/font><\/p>\n

Once again Molotsane has mentioned two of his main tenets \u2013 customer and employee centered management.<\/font> <\/p>\n

2005 has presented Molotsane with a few major hurdles regarding fulfilling his customer-centric goals but it may be slightly easier for Molotsane to satisfy his staff.<\/font> <\/p>\n

Consumer\u2019s outcry against the pay-per-gig billing system has presented itself as the first major hurdle for Molotsane and which the incumbent has unfortunately not managed to leap frog.<\/font> <\/p>\n

2006 will be an interesting for Molotsane, a newcomer in the telecoms arena, as he guides the company over the many regulatory and consumer challenges that lie ahead.<\/font> <\/p>\n

Winning back dissatisfied customers may be a top priority but it is certainly not the easiest one on his list.<\/font> <\/p>\n
