The new fibre offering is based on Internet Solution’s Fibre ADSL product.

This new solution is, according to Simon Butler, ADSL Product Manager at DataPro, the "closest ADSL has come to Diginet."

"The single most important benefit of this new fibre solution is greater reliability. While Satellite connectivity can be adversely affected by severe weather patterns, the new fibre solution provides lower latency and greater stability – Ideal for mission critical business applications," said Butler

“This, we believe, is the type of service offering that makes ADSL attractive for larger businesses that would traditionally have opted for a diginet solution at comparatively higher costs,” Butler stated.

DataPro added that this launch is part of its strategy to ensure that customers get the widest and most comprehensive range of business and consumer ADSL solutions.

Business ADSL comes bundled with five static IP addresses, uncapped local and international bandwidth plus a router.

The cost for the uncapped ADSL 512 offering is R 2500-00 per month while the uncapped ADSL 1024 service costs R 5000-00 per month (VAT Exclusive). These prices are exactly the same as those offered by Internet Solutions, which means that selling this service will come down to customer service and marketing.

DataPro also launched an electronic faxing solution called ProFax. Martin Kuhlmann, MD of ProFax, said that faxing is big business.

“The South African faxing market is currently a billion rand industry, comprising of more than 200 million minutes monthly and growing according to Telkom. Even more exciting is the fact that email2fax technology currently only comprises around 5 million minutes monthly,” he said.

According to Kuhlman Datapro has identified this as a huge growth area. Kuhlmann added that “our sole purpose is to facilitate quick, hassle-free fax communication channeled directly to the intended recipient. Thereby not only saving the recipient time but in the process dramatically reducing the costs associated with traditional fax solutions.”

DataPro said that their intention is to facilitate a friendly user environment whereby the user can logon and manage their own account as well as refer/invite their colleagues, friends and family to use this system, thus saving them money.

Discuss this article

DataPro has announced the launch of two new products, namely ProFax and a Fibre Uncapped Business ADSL solution.

[17

post-548444","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-technology
