Research in Motion (RIM) South Africa MD Alexandra Zagury said that there are no widespread network performance problems with the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS), adding that BlackBerry 10 will boost the BlackBerry experience further.<\/p>\n

Numerous local BlackBerry users have complained about slow BIS speeds in recent months via platforms such as MyBroadband.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve been having tremendous problems with BIS in our area,\u201d said one Vodacom BlackBerry user. \u201cBBM’s are so slow that I’ve waited 10 minutes last night for one message to send,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n

Zagury said that these slow speeds are not the norm, adding that there can be many reasons for slow speeds. These problems may include using EDGE (rather than 3G) or older, slower browsers.<\/p>\n

Zaguri said that BlackBerry 10, RIM\u2019s upcoming mobile operating system, will solve many of the performance issues.<\/p>\n

The benefits of the new BlackBerry 10 mobile OS include a faster browser which may solve some of the performance issues which current BlackBerry user experience, said Zaguri.<\/p>\n
