{"id":5609,"date":"2008-10-16T10:11:00","date_gmt":"2008-10-16T08:11:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-10-16T10:11:00","modified_gmt":"2008-10-16T08:11:00","slug":"new-overclocking-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/hardware\/5609-new-overclocking-record.html","title":{"rendered":"New overclocking record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BIOSTAR and AMD have set a new overclocking record using a BIOSTAR TA790GX 128M motherboard, together with an AMD Phenom X3 8450 processor, improving the systems performance from 2100 MHz to 3093 MHz, an increase of almost 50%.<\/p>\n<p>The record has been verified through two independent global review tools, the Overclocking World Database and CPU-Z Validation Database. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The BIOSTAR motherboard, is shipped with specialised software called TPower, which allows the user to manually overclock the system,&rdquo; says Comstar Technologies&rsquo; Managing Director, Amit Pansari. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Combined with the AMD 790GX chipset and the AMD Phenom triple core X3 8450 processor, we managed to achieve this remarkable result.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If the user is less technical, he or she can set the BIOSTAR overclocking software to &lsquo;automatic&rsquo; overclocking mode, which analyses the machine&rsquo;s components and maximizes its potential&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>AMD Phenom X3 triple core processors are designed to improve multi-threaded application performance over dual-core processors at the same clock speed.
