Vodacom was announced as the joint winner of the 2024 MyBroadband Best Voice Network in South Africa award, confirming its status as the most reliable network in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MyBroadband Insights conducted mobile network voice quality tests across South Africa between 15 May 2024 and 4 July 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MyBroadband\u2019s research engineer travelled 10,000 kilometres throughout South Africa and performed tests in all major cities, secondary cities, large towns, and major roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The testing included 38,000 calls and over 633 hours of recorded call data, making it the largest-ever voice network quality testing project in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MyBroadband Insights tracked indicators such as Call Setup Success Ratio (CSSR), Dropped Call Ratio (DCR), Call Setup Time (CST), and Speech Quality Mean Opinion Score (MOS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the testing, the results were collated according to the globally recognised European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) specifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The testing was done in partnership with Keysight distributor Coral-I and used Keysight\u2019s network testing platform, Nemo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the global standard in network quality testing, ensuring that MyBroadband\u2019s testing was in par with the best in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The voice network quality scores revealed that Vodacom was a joint-winner of the MyBroadband Best Voice Network in South Africa award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research also found that Vodacom boasted the fastest call setup time among major mobile networks \u2014 at only 1.51 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This refers to the time between when a call is first initiated, and when it registers on the receiving device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The longer the call setup time, the longer callers must wait before they hear the dialling tone \u2014 resulting in increased user frustration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By keeping its call setup time lower than any other voice network, Vodacom has improved the user experience for its voice customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 voice network quality testing results substantiated Vodacom\u2019s claim of having the most reliable network in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
