In his current role, Dr Mabaso leads Altron\u2019s group-wide technology function, product designs, and innovation strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is also heavily focused on AI and data analytics, and is committed to expanding the group\u2019s platform ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Mabaso was previously the CEO of SITA and the CIO of Digital and Customer Journeys at Standard Bank CIB, before joining Altron Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also spent over a decade at Transnet Engineering, where he worked as a senior engineer, a principal engineer responsible for software design, and the executive research manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Mabaso holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cape Town, a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cape Town\u2019s Graduate School of Business, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pretoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Mabaso talks about Altron Group\u2019s stance on AI, as well as how it has embedded AI into its products and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Mabaso then discusses the opportunities for the public and private sectors to work together and unlock government data to serve the people of South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
