Logitech, a manufacturer of webcams, and Carl Zeiss, have announced a collaboration aiming to deliver improved image quality for video calling and sharing.<\/p>\n
Carl Zeiss's relationship with Logitech is said to mark a significant step in the development of webcam optics. Carl Zeiss has been driving optical innovation since the earliest days of photography, and Logitech released its first webcam in 1995.<\/p>\n
The first webcams designed in collaboration with Carl Zeiss – the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and the Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks – are expected to be available in SA in September for a suggested retail price of R1199.<\/p>\n
"Image quality is only as good as the lens that captures the image," says Dr Winfried Scherle, GM of the Carl Zeiss Camera Lens division.<\/p>\n
