{"id":586170,"date":"2025-03-09T10:05:05","date_gmt":"2025-03-09T08:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=586170"},"modified":"2025-03-09T10:05:11","modified_gmt":"2025-03-09T08:05:11","slug":"eskom-pauses-load-shedding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/energy\/586170-eskom-pauses-load-shedding.html","title":{"rendered":"Eskom pauses load-shedding"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Eskom says it will suspend load-shedding at 10:00 on Sunday due to the recovery of more than 3,000MW of generation capacity and replenishment of emergency reserves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It added that it aims to restore an additional 4,091MW of capacity by Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state-owned power utility noted that coal operations at Kusile Power stations have reached &#8220;optimal levels&#8221; and that the units out of service on Friday are back online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also said that it is in the process of recovering Koeberg Unit 2, reassuring the public that it remains safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We maintain our guidance that load-shedding is largely behind us due to structural improvements in the generation fleet,&#8221; Eskom said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;While baseload capacity remains constrained, our generation recovery plan is addressing this challenge.
