{"id":586594,"date":"2025-03-12T11:30:27","date_gmt":"2025-03-12T09:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=586594"},"modified":"2025-03-12T11:30:33","modified_gmt":"2025-03-12T09:30:33","slug":"dstv-enhancing-mzansi-magic-channel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/586594-dstv-enhancing-mzansi-magic-channel.html","title":{"rendered":"DStv enhancing Mzansi Magic channel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>MultiChoice will integrate its 1Max programming onto the Mzansi Magic channel from 31 March 2025, significantly enhancing its content offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MultiChoice explained that this change forms part of its ongoing channel simplification to adapt to changing consumer behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe decision follows detailed research into audience consumption behaviour,\u201d MultiChoice said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new development will see 1Max\u2019s slate of upcoming titles now move onto Mzansi Magic, boosting that channel\u2019s significant local content lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the changes mean that the 1Max channel will close on the DStv platform, the content will not be lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customers can still watch many of these titles directly on Showmax, including hits like Youngins, Adulting, and Soft Life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simply put, audiences can access their favourite title within a scheduled channel or on demand, depending on their product and viewing preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShowmax remains available for free to DStv Premium customers and at a discount for Compact subscribers,\u201d MultiChoice said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MultiChoice South Africa CEO Byron du Plessis explained that MultiChoice focuses on improving customer content discovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe know that our customers want to find their content as quickly as possible, without having to navigate across multiple channels or platforms,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis consolidation also allows Mzansi Magic to further build its stellar lineup, becoming a stronger premium local content offering than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He highlighted that the titles below are coming to Mzansi Magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ithonga<\/strong> \u2013 A new telenovela about the bond shared by twins, starring Bonko Khoza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cobrizi<\/strong> \u2013 The spin-off of the Emmy-nominated and multi-award-winning hit The River.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Inimba<\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0 A new telenovela following the story of Zoleka Mabandla.
